Pakistan set UAE 340-run Target

Pakistan scored an exigent 340 for six against United Arab Emirates.

Today, UAE Captain Muhammad Tauqir won the toss and decided to field first. His decision was unexpected because the pitch is in favour of batsmen. Tauqir did hope that the decision will help his team to produce pressure on the opponent while the Pakistani Captain Misbahul Haq showed happiness on batting first.

Pakistan took the advantage of the weak bowling attack and scored 340 for six. Captain Misbahul Haq hit a 49-ball  65 and reached his 41st ODI half-century off just 39 balls while opener Ahmad Shehzad miss his century by 7-runs and successfully scored 93 with the companionship of skipper Misbahul Haq. Shehzad hit eight boundaries and a six but ran himself out while taking a single run. Boom boom Afridi scored 21 and hit 2 sixes and one four, Wahab Riaz remained not out at 6 runs.

In the 49th over, Akmal lost his wicket after scoring 19 and Haris Sohail went to pavilion after making 50-run.  Both Haris Sohail and Ahmad Shahzad scored a 160-run partnership, the 4th highest in the World Cup for Pakistan.

Both teams are in Pool B, UAE have lost all three previous matches while Pakistan is in must-win position and have just two points after defeats from India and the West Indies.
