Shyness is one of the main component of faith. Without shyness a person losses its faith and satin encourages him to move towards sin. Shyness doesn't confined only in front of other people but the real saint is the one whose faith never shatters in loneliness, when no one is seeing him but he stops himself from sin just because Allah is watching him.
