The latest controversy for Pakistan Cricket has prevailed in the shape of a casual religious advice to Tillakaratne Dilshan by Ahmed Shehzad during last ODI Series. This happened after the 3rd ODI between Sri Lanka and Pakistan played in Dambula. After the match Ahmed Shehzad caught on camera with audible voice talking to Tillakaratne Dilshan about Islam that “if one is a non-Muslim and he turns Muslim, no matter whatever one does in his life, he goes straight to heaven".
The inquiry to probe the matter has been launched by PCB and Shehzad was summoned to the board's headquarters in Lahore on Wednesday and asked about his comments.
The notable thing in this regard is that, no one from the Sri Lankan cricket board or any official has lodged any complaint about this matter. The other fact is that, Dilshan was born to a Muslim father and a Buddhist mother and was known as Tuwan Mohamed Dilshan. But before stated playing International Cricket in 1999, he changed his name. Ranjan Paranavitana Dilshan’s childhood coach has said even though Dilshan carried a Muslim name, he and his brothers and sisters followed their mother's religion since their childhood.
