Anti-Terrorism Action Plan Multi-Party Committee Meeting

Representatives of all major political parties had a meeting on Tuesday in Islamabad, where all parties’ members consulted on the 17 point draft for the suggestive legislations presented by all law enforcement agencies technical committee. At the end of the meeting as per reports, committee failed to reach on any consensus, the major apprehensions were shown on the establishment of military courts for dealing with terrorism cases for a speedy justice arrangement.

This PM formed Anti-Terrorism Action Plan Committee was headed by Minister Chaudhry Nisar, this high profile committee had two stretched sessions of more than seven hours yesterday in regard for finalizing the draft before submitting it to premier Nawaz Sharif for his final approval. Some of the major points of this draft comprises of a “broader approach to internal security by calling for addressing hate crimes and extremism; ensuring the de- weaponisation of society and registration of madressahs as well as committing to the disruption of militant groups and their communication networks”.

One committee member PPP’s Qamar Zaman Kaira after meeting while talking to media said that nothing has been finalize as yet and all dealings would be taken with the endorsement of each party’s leadership. He also affirmed that all party representatives has consensus on the majority of the points other minor will also come to conclusion soon in the next meeting.
