Civil society members registered a First Information Report (FIR) in Aabpara Police station against Maulana Abdul Aziz on Friday.

“Maulana Abdul Aziz and his four gunmen had given life threats to peaceful protesters and had warned them to face dire consequences”, said the applicant.  The cleric and his gunmen asked the protesters to end the protest on Thursday and called the police to cope with unexpected situation.  Police arrested the protest organizer for violating section 144.
 
On Friday evening, a large crowd gathered outside the Lal Masjid, and soon many political party members also joined it. They started their movement toward Aabpara Police station. The protesters demanded to register FIR against Maulana Abdul Aziz and repudiated to disperse till the FIR was registered.
 
The Aabpara police station booked FIR against Maulana Abdul Aziz and his gunmen 506 (II) of the PPC. Senator Sehr Kamran of Pakistan Peoples Party, Farzana Bari, Shan Taseer, son of former governor Punjab Salman Taseer was with civil activists in Aabpara Police Station.
 
The protesters were holding placards with written slogans against Lal Masjid’s cleric i.e. “You’re either with terrorists or with us”; “The friends of TTP are also our enemies”.
 
The protestors said we never forget the sacrifices of Peshawar and barbaric massacre of 140 people. Our chants will be louder and they’ll be heard till Lal Masjid. Pakistani nation should standup against these violating attacks, and Government must assure for not happening another similar type of incident.
