Pakistan is an agriculture based country, however due to weather affects and some other mismanagement, sometimes Pakistan failed to get sufficient agriculture products. This season, Pakistan is facing shortage of Potatoes, while to overcome this shortage, the authorities decided to import Potato from India.

Pakistan is an agriculture based country, however due to weather affects and some other mismanagement, sometimes Pakistan failed to get sufficient agriculture products. This season, Pakistan is facing shortage of Potatoes, while to overcome this shortage, the authorities decided to import Potato from India.
 
Now Pakistan has started import of Potato, while importers are importing potato about 150 to 200 Tons on daily basis. The Indian Potatoes are available in Punjab Cities at a price of 37 to 38 rupees per KG.
 
The import of Potato has demolish the shortage and now the prices are much stable than previous situation. Now those who have stored the potatoes are trying to bring their reserves in market, which will further result in fall of prices as well.
 
The Government of Pakistan has vanished the duties and taxes on the import of Potato, while the exporter of Pakistani Potatoes will have to pay 25% regulatory duty.
