A free Commission of WHO (World Health Organization) has declared South-east Countries of Asia as Polio Free. The virus of Polio is prevailing only in a few countries including Pakistan and Afghanistan.
A free Commission of WHO (World Health Organization) has declared South-east Countries of Asia as Polio Free. The virus of Polio is prevailing only in a few countries including Pakistan and Afghanistan.
According to the report of WHO, the South Asian Countries except Pakistan and Afghanistan are free from Polio Virus. No new case has been witnessed since last three years, other countries that are declared as Polio free include Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nepal, Burma, Bhutan, Maldives, Thailand, East Timor and Democratic Republic of Korea.
WHO declared 80% world as Polio free, the most affected countries by Polio Virus also include a country from Africa Region. Nigeria is the third country that is declared as affected by Polio virus. Pakistan is facing problems in running the Polio Campaign as several attacks on Polio teams resulted in killings of Polio Team Workers.
Mainly the affected areas of Pakistan include KPK, Balochistan and a few areas of Sindh.
