According to reports duo was attempting to fly around the world on their single engine Beechcraft Bonanza in 30 days to raise money for the education of underprivileged children in Pakistan, while their plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean near the American Samoa Islands.
The American national father Babar Suleman along with his son Haris Suleman who started their journey from Plainfield, Indiana, in the US, on June 19, the father and son travelled to Canada, Iceland, England, Greece, Egypt and the UAE before reaching Pakistan, where they received a warm welcome at Karachi airport on July 1st.
Haris’s uncle Air Vice Marshal Abid Rao confirmed, “We are very sad. It was the last leg of their trip, a journey of 13-14 hours. But their plane crashed within two minutes after they took off.” He said that the incident took place between 6 to 6:30 pm PST near Pago Pago US.
