In Washington today, reports are coming that excessive sitting of people of 60 years of age or above is extremely dangerous. This is said by an US study report to the media today. This study report is submitted by some students of Northwestern University about excessive sitting of older people is dangerous for them.
In this reports it is found that, “if two adults of 65 years of age, one sits for twelve hours a day and the other one sits for thirteen hours a day, than the second person has fifty percent more chances of getting disabled". Their report also says that, long sitting in front of television, eating, dressing and bathing can be the reasons of disability in people of 65 years of age and more.
The survey team of National Health and Nutrition Examination prepared this study report, in this report samples were observed from more than two thousands people of 65 years of age and more. Their team prepared this report by observing one person at a time, whether if the disability occurs in all or not.
In this team a well-known researcher and professor of medicine in Northwestern University named as Dorothy Dunlop, also gave his comments in this survey report and advised the older people to not sit for very long. Professor said that, she is amazed to see that people gets disable due to long sitting and no walking which is lethal for them in that age.
