In New York today, an auction of painted portrait of the Pakistani schoolgirl who was shot in the head by Taliban known as Malala Yousafzai was done in New York. The painted portrait of Malala Yousafzai was sold in 102,500$ in the auction and the money is going to be used for the female education in Nigeria.
The price money of the Malala Yousafzai painted portrait will be donated from the Malala Fund to the local NGOs of Nigeria who are working to educate the female girls and women of Nigeria. There are also reports found of more than 200 schoolgirls disappeared, which were seized at gunpoint by some revolutionaries last month.
Malala Yousafzai is a 16 years old girl who was shot in the head by Taliban in 2012 on giving her views on female education in northwest region of Pakistan. She had an extensive medical treatment in Britain and currently is living in Britain. The painted portrait of Malala Yousafzai was sold within few minutes in the auction.
